The representative for Social Affairs for the Cabildo in Tenerife, Margarita Pena, has said that the South hospital's geriatric unit could be up and working in six months if the government provides the 11 million euros that are needed to continue and finish the work. The Minister stressed the need to unblock this money the sooner the better as this projectis, "much needed and demanded."

Cabildo and the Canarian Government have invested more than 32 million euros in this geriatric unit.

Thanks so much for the report .
Forgive me if I don't buy a hat for the opening ceremony. 6 months probably means 12.

And after all this time only a geriatric unit. I do however appreciate that I will no doubt get the use out of it when it does open (before someone else makes this comment so sorry, Andy!)

I was referring to 'pain' as in 'pain in the bum' or something is a 'pain', not as in a hurting type of pain :)

Que pena being a good example, i.e. 'what a pain'
