The renovated Plaza Adeje in Spain was the scene last Thursday night of the presentation of an innovative and ambitious Rallye Villa de Adeje Tenerife at its 22 nd edition. A firm commitment by the City Council of the Historic town of Adeje and especially its Department of Sports with D. Adolfo Alonso heading this up.
The event began with the presentation throughout the square of the units of the Red Cross, volontary Fire brigade Guayota, the new command post of the FIASCT (Tenerife road race association), race cars and classic Southern Crane unit and the latest models of VW with the new Golf GTI and Polo Cabrio who will race for WRC car. Those in attendance enjoyed the act, the new Plaza, and a mixture of gasoline, culture and history.
The welcome was given by the Hon. Mayor of Adeje D. Jose Miguel Rodriguez Fraga. He stated that he was very proud of the work of the team Villa de Adeje but above all the commitment and desire at the time of launching this new edition. The Mayor also felt very "pleased" in this new Plaza will serve in the future for all kinds of events and for the enjoyment of all neighbours in Adeje.
Also present were D. Benito Rodriguez, president of the FIASCT, D. Javier Siverio from Promotions and constructions Jampa, Pilar Quiroga, Commercial Director of Civic Bank Caja Canarias, D. Angel Bello Angel Bello Manager of VW (the security vehicle for the rally), D. Juan Carlos Alonso, representing the Guardia Civil traffic police, D. Adolfo Alonso, Councillor for Sports, Youth and Culture in Adeje Town Hall and D. Rangel Policarpo Delgado, President of the Scuderia Villa Adeje.
Once the welcome had been given , the guests enjoyed a promotional video about Costa Adeje and cars. From there, he explained the complete program schedule, explained where the cars can be worked on - park work (Gran Sur shopping center), routes, departure and arrival points then the security personnel who will participate in the Rally. Officials at the table thanked the sponsors and the team that has made it possible to start the 2nd Rally Villa de Adeje Tenerife Sur.
This magical evening ended with the words of the Mayor D. Jose Miguel Rodriguez Fraga "This means, the rally has already started and we hope it will be a success on the road. I hope the fans will be part of the organization as the team has worked hard for this. To the the sponsors we appreciate your support and thank you all for being in Adeje on this special night with us. " Finally, D. Angel Bello thanked the Mayor and offered that he could be co-pilot in the zero Rally car as co-driver.
The Department of Tourism and D. Rafael Dolado, will be contacting the hotels in the Costa Adeje to look for a price-offer for fans and teams who want to stay in the south of the island the day of the Rallye.
The registration is already open, on the Web page www.escuderiavilladeadeje.com. More information for drivers and fans will be available. The countdown has begun to the 9th and 10th of September. Remember that this race also scores for the Regularity Sport.
