They were also called out from Santa Cruz to extinguish a fire in the early hours of Thursday. The incident occurred at a site near the Parque Marítimo César Manrique about 05.00 hours, the CECOES recorded an alert reporting a significant amount of smoke when fire the stubble of a plot, so the 1-1-2 immediately activated emergency resources to intervene in the area.
Local Police and Fire brigade troops, were responsible for extinguishing the fire.
Throughout the day, intervencions were activated through the Coordinating Center for Fire at 1-1-2, with fires located in the capital district in Pueblo Hinojosa, on the Avenue in Los Majuelos and in Gracia in La Laguna.
The worst fire was recorded in the area of el Tablero which was about 5,000 meters of stubble and debris, as well as affecting two vehicles parked nearby. With the added danger that this was next to a residentail area it was necessary for some residents to be evacuated briefly, they were allowed to return to their homes once the fire was extinguished.
Also at 11:20 hours on Wednesday morning, firefighters from San Miguel de Abona extinguished a fire originated in a garage of a house located on the Bajio street, Parque de la Reina, in the municipality of Arona.
