Another bar my wife and I have been in many times. We returned last night and I had Steak and kidney pie, chips, veg and onion gravy (5euro). The pie and chips arrived on the plate and the veg (peas carrots and cabbage) were served seperately. The plates are large and the meal covered it totally. My wife opted for a tuna mayonnaise salad (5 euro). Both meals were excellent quality and the staff friendly.

Another place I highly recommend.

Sounds lush, any chance of a clue as to where in Los Cris it is?

Stand with your back to the church, look along the narrow pedestrian street, right at the far end, just as the hill starts it's on your left, and yes a proper pub, nice food, and nice staff

Can only say good about Annette & Brendan, and their staff. Great well run pub, good food and well kept beers. Always a pleasure to get in there (which isn't often enough).

We had a lovely lunch there earlier this year when in LC, watching the Queen in Dublin giving her regards to TBOTOB- cracking pint of Guinness as well!

Back in Tenerife last week and great to see the Devon Arms is still so good for quality food at such low prices, if your looking for pub grub thats homemade and in big portions get urself down there. The steak and guinness pie is fantastic as are the fresh rather than frozen chips. Cant believe its still so cheap at 6 euros

Staff continue to be very friendly and a great location to watch sport

Yes had another Bar lunch there recently , very nice and pleasant staff too !ok we will give it another go, we went in there a few years ago and there was no one in there?, we always go into bars and have a drink, then sit there and look at other peoples meals to see if they are any good:laugh:, and the day we went in i think we where the only ones  so we couldn't make up our minds, but the mention of hand cut chips as opposed to frozen always gets my attention;)

Yes jung, Brendans a nice guy. Do you never venture in English/British bars, they have lots to offer to, at very reasonable prices!

Generally Woolli I drink where they sell decent Guinness as thatīs all I can drink ,can't stand lager - so normally a Scottish Bar such as "Irish rover" or a decent Irish Bar will serve Guinness on draught - the Devon arms sounded English to me and the food was nice - I didnīt know the owner was Irish , in fact the barmaid that served me was English - donīt think Iīve met Brendan !

Jim, youve always confused me, Scottish bar such as Irish rover! Is that the same as going to an English bar named The Welsh Arms?
Yes Brendan the owner is Irish. Nice bloke, only downside hes an Arsenal fan. Could be worse I suppose, not mentioning your team!

Well I used to have a drink in Soul City and that was full of Gooners too until they gave up the draught Guinness - the Irish Rover used to be called the Hustler before Benny & Jimmy took it over -itīs as Irish as The Dubliner !
We have all sorts in the Rovers from Celtic, even Sevco, Hearts, Dundee Utd,Man Utd, Liverpool - but to go back on topic it was my wife that chose the Devon Arms first time round , my only criterion was it had to sell Guinness -if a pub doesnīt do Guinness I wonīt normally be in it !

Do you not even sup any bitters, or Old Speckled Hen, as they have in Big Bens in Los Cris? I bet if it was called the Old Irish Speckled Hen you would!
Nice drink that Jim

They could call it Bobby Sands pish but if itīs not Guinness Iīm not likely to drink it !
I was in a Belgian bar in Puerto Colon with a dark beer 7% and a Kasteel at 11% but got fed up and went for my Guinness -I was in Harleys for cocktails and after 2 Margaritas , went onto cans of Guinness !

Devon Arms is a nice pub especially on a cloudy day, you feel like you are in a pub at home. Guinness? Serious stout lovers need to drink at the Dail Fountain, near the old Miner's Retreat Pub at the harbour. THE only Guinness that tastes like Guinness , from a tap, I have ever found in in Tenerife. A proper aftertaste- free pint in . Way ahead.

Nothing of the sort Jim, I just thought if you were a dark beer drinker you would like real ales, although not much of that here.
Bobby Sands pish? Now that would stick in your throat!

Walk along the coast go through the tunnel into Los Cris. go past the farmacia, a little further on you will see a Timberland shop on a corner, look up the hill you will see the Devon Arms at the top of this hill on the left. There are quicker ways but more complicated.

Go out of PS3 at the rear, onto the sea front walk, turn left and head towards Los Cristianos...at the end of the Las Vistas beach you come to a tunnel, go through the tunnel, bearing right and on the left after a few shops there are steps going up/down ,at the top of these steps turn left and follow this road round and you will come to Devon Arms....:)

Hi all. I passed the Devon Arms in Los Crist a couple of weeks ago and it was closed, does anyone know if it it just being refurbed, or have they closed down completely. Every time we are in Tenerife, we pop in at least once. I hope they are still around and have not left he island.
