Previously it was always easy to access the village of Chayofa easily by car, whether approaching from the Los Cristianos or La Camella direction.

Until now, because recently, the local council saw fit to reorganise the white lines on the road.

Now you find that if you are driving uphill from Los Cristianos, you cannot turn left into Chayofa either at the bottom or top end of the village. This means that drivers have to go all the way up to La Camella, turn, and drive down again.

Similarly, when leaving the village, if you want to go uphill towards La Camella, first you have to go down and turn at the Eagle Park junction.

Some may say that these detours don't take you far out of your way, but you are still talking about a considerable distance, and it's no less annoying. Maybe this has been done to prevent accidents, but what is certain is that this measure is sure to put people off using the businesses in the village and it certainly won't save any fuel.

What wrong with turning right in front of the big stone eagle and driving through aguilas del teide to chayofa that way.no further distance and certainly safer.

Going from Los Cris was still open on Friday as we went to El Mojon and down from under the bridge

Hmm if that's the case not only is it annoying for people trying to get into the middle entrance and tennis club entrance but it's also going to put more pressure on la camellas small road network and risk more accidents in that town with the extra traffic.

I predict a chayofa roundabout !
