Is there any information about the birds and wildlife on the island. Such as when birds are arriving to overwinter here. The best places to see certain breeds. When and where there are large numbers of birds arriving and general wildlife topics. I have found one or two blogs on the web but nothing really up to date.

If you want information in book form, I don't think there's one better in English than this one by David and Zöe Bramwell, entitled "Natural History Of The Canary Islands".

I have the Spanish edition, "Historia Natural de las Islas Canarias, Guia Básica," but it is also published in English:

It covers not only all types of birds found in the archipelago but also describes their habitat, and includes invertebrates, and flora as well.

This is an old, hardcover book, first edition printed in 1987 by Editorial Rueda, but I have seen it for sale in local bookshops and kiosks where books on local flora and fauna, walking guides and other info are to be found.

They are Cory Sheerwaters. they sound so funny chatting as they fly! :)

Is anyone on the Forum a bird watching guide or does anyone know of somebody who can accompany some friends of mine who are coming out in January around the island please? Obviously not for free ... Thanks
