Tenerife has so much to offer to everyone, I know, I've tried most of it.

My favourite day was a boat trip about 10 years ago when the sea got rough.

Everyone was given the option of getting off the boat in Los Abrigos, but when we saw the way they were dragging them off the boat in 20 foot seas from the liberty boat we decided to stay on board.

We had to go back out to sea, where it was calmer, and those of us that were left had a fantastic party.

Gobsmacked a couple of days later when we found out all the woozes were asking for their money back.

Whenever anyone mentions Whales and Dolphins or Boat Trips today, that day appears in my mind.

What was your favourite day out in Tenerife?

Visited Tenerife for the first time this summer and had an amazing time , 14 days of bliss . To pick out our favourite day is hard as we had many , but one that still stands out was our Jeep Safari with a great guide called Colin from Scotland . We did the Teide - Masca trip and the views were out of this world . My heart was in my mouth way up in the mountains , the windy narrow roads and such huge drops down the mountains :wow: Colin gave us all the history of Teide and Masca and he made it so interesting we loved listening to him . What we saw of Tenerife that day only touched the surface but it made us so eager to see more , and hopefully we will return to see some more of this beautiful Island

There are so many great days that stick in my memory but one has to be when we were on Honeymoon 8 years ago,we hired a jeep for the 2 weeks and just went
island touring,we called in anywhere that took our fancy, all around Teide and surrounding areas, called in some great little bars for refreshments and took some amazing pictures,to cap off this great day we called into a little bar on the way down and it was so friendly we got involved with the locals and i got so merry, hubby does not
drink but he said he really enjoyed the day,i love doing things off the cuff without planning anything

I remember the 1st time my wife and I went to Los Abrigos back in the 80's I had heard about a restaurant that specialised in seafood and decided to give it a go. So off we went in our little hire car and not very good map, we managed to find what we thought was the turn off for Los Abrigos and proceeded down a narrow bumpy road which twisted and turned through a sort of desert landscape, there was tarmac in places but not much :) We both thought we were lost, but the sight of a small village in the distance kept us going, as we drove into Los Abrigos all we could see was a dirty dilapidated town which did not inspire our confidence in finding anywhere decent to eat. We took a right turn for the harbour and as we drove down to the end we passed a couple of places with plastic tables and chairs outside them in the road (no pavement)and our hearts sank ! But at the end of the harbour road was a small gap between 2 buildings and a place to park and better still a restaurant with stunning views and although not smart it was clean and tidy. We decided to chance it and went in to a friendly welcome, the place was nearly full and most of the clientele seemed to be Spanish,German and French. The fish was laid out on a chiller and you chose what you wanted and they cooked it for you, needless to say we stuffed ourselves with some of the best fish we had ever eaten all washed down with some local white wine.
Since those days Los Abrigos has changed a lot, this is before they built the new harbour walls and put in decent roads and generally spruced the place up and lot's of smart restaurants opened...... I prefer the old Los Abrigos :)

A great day all boils down to th company you have that day and ive met some great people here on the island..

My most memorable best day will be 23 Jan 2009 the birth of my daughter.

One of my most memorable days in Tenerife was 21 years ago when we were visiting my parents who had just moved out to live on the island full time. We had a great time for the whole two weeks but this particular day stands out in my mind.

We took a trip out to Aquamansa, had a walk around the trout farm and then took a walk up the dirt road into the forest.

The air was crystal clear, the sky blue, there was a hint of resin in the air. This was real fresh air with views to match. It reminded me very much of the forests of Wales but a darn sight warmer.

Sadly for many they have never seen this side of this beautiful island. They do not know what they are missing.

Without a doubt ... MASCA. I love it. What a beautiful place. A haven in paradise.
I could live there tomorrow. Sample the real food of Masca, you have to ask for it though as it isnt on the menus!

I also love the Guachinches in North Tenerife, where I now live. No Brits, No Sausage and mash etc. Great pork chops and fillet of pork, huevos estampidos, garbanzas and happy smiling people and tax drivers who dont rip you off.

There are so many secret places here in La Orotava or Puerto de la Cruz. If you live in the South ... venture up here, you will be more than pleasantly surprised. It is only 1 hour's drive. Hotels are cheap and it is like another world.

There are so many! But if I could choose ... any day I've been up Teide, as I love it ... apart from that, had a magical day with OH in Masca last summer. Hadn't been there for a few years so we had a wander around then a guy who was selling stuff in the square next to the church recommended an Italian restaurant in the hills above Masca (5 minutes drive) where they did fresh pasta ... so we went & it was lovely! La Pimentera - really nice ... photo attached of the view from our table. Also love Corpus Christi in La Orotava which is really special too ... also enjoyed La Ruta de los Castillos in Santa Cruz ... 1195see, I can't really decide!!

Masca is the most amazing place I have visited! Close second is Teide with it's amazing "lunar" landscape.

I have to agree! Our son and daughter-in-law joined us a couple of years ago and loved Tenerife. Just have one more daughter to convince now! (Eldest daughter has been and loved it).

Like many others there's too many magical moments that I had in Tenerife but overall I loved using the buses and popping off for the day. As I ended up living out in Tenerife on my own which was scary enough at 21, testing out the transport soon got easier on my own because id always be surroundd by friendly residents and holiday makers and was able to tell myself that no matter how lost I got (which is very easy done for me) , I was never that far away from getting home :)
