Has anyone been to the Carnival in Santa Cruz during February.

We are staying in the South of the Island at that time in 2012 and are thinking of making a day trip (by local bus) to visit.

Make sure you take some bog roll, and if you're a girl, get one of those things that makes you wee like a bloke :D

Also, you MUST go in fancy dress, or you look out of place :)

It is great. Best of all is the procession on Shrove Tuesday afternoon but the night before.(the one Kirsty went up on) or either the Saturday before or after are all awesome parties.
We always go up one if the big nights and I usually work the procession day as a companion which means I get to enjoy the day too.

Yes well worth the trip - if youīre going by local Titsa Bus , get a Bono ticket to get a reduced fare - the buses run through the night but on return are very busy!.
Just be aware of crowded bus queues and pickpockets - itīs their prime spot late at night .
As Kirsty says - dress up itīs part of the fun - there will be plenty of information nearer the time .

Actually, the buses don't run ALL night... we ended up having to wait a couple of hours when we were coming home, so just make sure you check the times.

The buses you need to the south are the 110 and the 111. :)
