What a great thread. Looking forward to the recommendations
Can I ask as an occasional visited to Tenerife that people give the full address. I find it difficult to find places described as "next to the Fedora Hotel, the one with the blue canopy"
Thanks

Thanksthere are several threads on here about many great restaurants, just look in the search engine, unfortunately we have lost a well respected member recently who would have posted you the exact location of any establishment(please do not take this comment as a criticism mods because it is not meant that way) so is there a member out there that could take the afore members duties over and post the locations of bars, restaurants and such places? thank you;)

Not too sure about other members, but if I go and have a good meal I have difficulty remembering where our villa is, let alone the full address of the restaurant I've just been to.

Unless I pick up their business card on the way out !

Best restaurant by far is the Terrazza del Mar, Salytien, Las Americas.

If I could afford it I'd eat there three times a day..

HERE (http://www.laterrazzadelmare.com/en.html) is a link to the website. There are directions there

That "Fisherman's Inn", is that the one at the top of the street leading to the beach/quay ( and also to the coastal walk leading to the Barcelo Santiago?)? I have to say that from the outside, it didn't look like much but as the saying goes, you can't judge a book etc). If you continue to walk towards Playa dl Arena ( past the Fisherman's Inn), you will come to a little restaurant called "Casa Pedro's" which does a lot of Canarian dishes and has mostly "home-cooked" food. Imo, it is certainly well worth a visit.

I can recommend "Piccolo" It is located next to Playa Vista.

Tito's in San Nicolas, Puerto de la Cruz.

Beautiful garden setting as well as indoors, Canary tapas and dishes.

Slideshow from my visit there (http://canarybird.smugmug.com/photos/swfpopup.mg?AlbumID=18600955&AlbumKey=f55f89) with a British group. Reasonable prices and a great place to go with friends.

La Tasquita de Nino in San Miguel is a must and is definitely worth seeking out. It isn't a big restaurant so would suggest booking.

It only serves Canarian dishes and Tapas with local wines but the food is absolutely divine

Have attached a link to their website which includes a map showing where it is

You won't regret it

It sounds lovely, just the sort of place we'd make an effort to go to! :yum:
