The National Statistics Institute (INE) today released new data on hotel occupancy in the Canary Islands for July, which reached 76.6% compared to 73.8% that was previously estimated.
The INE has also rectified the data today for overnight stays in Spain in July, which have increased by 8.9% over the same month in 2010 and stood at 38 million rooms per night fr the period, while tariffs have been increased by 0.6%, according to new data.
The statistics gaven on Tuesday by the INE, placed the increase in overnight stays at 7.7%.
I think these increase are down to the disruption happening in many other holiday destinations, such as North Africa.
Would you agree?
Long may it continue. Tenerife has more to offer than many other destinations. The only problem with Tenerife is the increase in All Inclusive.

I think it is more than possible we have experienced an upturn due to troubles or even potential trouble in North Africa
Certainly we did in the winter.

We fly out this coming Friday from Manchester with Monarch. Flight costs with luggage were £230 each, not bad IMO. Managed to book The Paramount for 1 week at £595 for a 2 bed apartment. If you know the Paramount it's not your usual run of the mill complex.

Think the "illegal renting" might have some effect, a friend who is still advertising has been swamped, and lots have said they would be booking AI hotels instead, or going elsewhere (country wise) as she is full, and they can't get anywhere. God help when the swallows can't find anything.
