Tenerife Forum member YOUNG GOLFER has kindly volunteered his shop, Properties Are Us (http://www.propertiesareus.com/tenerife-property-sales-rental-holiday-flights/), located in Las Carabelas, Torviscas, as a drop-off point for donations of food, supplies and money, for MaDaT Tenerife (http://madattenerife.com/).

MaDaT (http://www.facebook.com/madat.tenerife) are an animal welfare association (http://www.gobcan.es/cpj/temas/participacion/asociaciones.html) who help many of us with sourcing families for cats and dogs in mainland Europe.

They have a huge amount of cats and dogs, more than they can care for, and several members here pledged donations back in June, which they never received.

One or two members are asking who MaDaT are and what they do.

Without MaDaT, Marmalade the cat, abandoned in an apartment by a forum member some time back, would never have been lucky enough to find a home.

Marmalade is one of hundreds of animals whom they have helped, but feeding and cleaning and buying medication for all of these animals, before the cost of blood tests, jabs, passports and flights, is a monumental cost.

Decent grade wet food for a young kitten costs €1 per day, so you can see how quickly the costs can spiral.

Without MaDaT, a lot of people here would have a lot more cats and dogs to care for, and pay for!

It is likely that the comments / thread from yesterday will vanish, so if this thread could be closed and stickied, that would be great.

This has been written on a mobile device, so url's will be added later.

When i sent you a reply i put down the hours of 10am til 1pm then 3pm til 8pm(just to let members know).

If i am out and about with clients i am sure you can leave it next door at any of the shops next to mine they will make sure it's passed on.

Live Arico are asking for donations of 3€ a month to help with their costs, can MaDaT not set up a similar thing?? I have no idea of costs for this or legalities, so please no one jump down my throat if its a bad idea, I just know for me personally I would be happy to set up a standing order for 5€ per month and feel I was helping rather than buying tonnes and tonnes of cat food each month and getting it to them.
