View Full Version : Do you know this Beatles photo in the Shakespeare bar, Los Cristianos, Tenerife?

As my memory has been nudged by the other thread started by Admin about the Beatles, can anybody help?
I often noticed a Beatles photo on the wall inside the Shakespeare at Los Diamantes.
It wasn't one I had ever seen before and would love to find a copy.
The bar owner inherited this photo from the previous owner I think, so doesn't know any details about it, although he did say it's amazing the number of people who comment on it.
Any clues would be appreciated.

Trouble is I have never ever seen that particular shot anywhere so I don't even know where to begin looking on ebay.
Hard to describe, but Paul is sort of crouching and peeping out from behind the others (I think!)

Should have done that at the time, now not back in Tenerife until Dec, though actually you have just made me think .... OH may have tried to do that the last time we were in, I will trawl through his old photos. Thanks, good idea.
PS, it must have been near the end of their time together, no silly outfits etc, their hair was a bit long but photo didnt look too dated

ok, this was taken on July 28, 1968, while The Beatles were recording sessions for the White Album, they took time for a “Mad Day Out,” in order to be photographed all over London by Stephen Goldblatt.

Thanks that is a really interesting link - thought perhaps the photo I had seen was a bit later date than then?? Just that their hair, especially Pauls, seems longer on my photo (sorry, not being picky, really:D)
Just wanted to say also what a wonderful forum this is - absolutely anything can be answered!

hehe, believe me, it is the same photoshoot. just look at the clothes. it is only the way paul bends his neck the hair falls differently :D
besides, in 1969 they were having beards already...remember the let it be sessions? ....

Hi we are the owners of Shakespeare's Bar, thank you Red Devil for finding out the correct time and date of this Beatles photo it does create a lot of interest.
Please make yourself known in Dec it would be nice to meet you.
