Was cooling off in the pool a while ago.. we're in Amarilla Golf so on the flight path.. We like to guess the airline before we can see it's insignia. I guessed Thomas Cook but as the plane passed over the name on it's side read Iron Maiden!!

Charlie tells me one of the band is also an airline pilot....!

This the one?

I think it was the one used in a documentary film they did, Flight 666. As to what its doing in Tenerife though is a different question.

The plane belongs to Astraeus Airlines but is chartered by the band for touring the world with lead singer Bruce Dickenson at the controls. Astraeus leave the artwork on because it's good for business.

Bruce Dickinson came in the shop about four years ago when he was on a flying stint.

Bruce Dickinson is a Captain for Astraeus and as already mentioned Astraeus have left the Iron Maiden livery on the aircraft after it was used for their tour. Astraeus no longer run their own passenger flights and now specialise in aircraft charter and lease, so it was likely to be filling in for another operator that may have had an aircraft shortage.
