The National police have detained five people in Gran Canaria as part of the dismantling of a network of false shirts manufacturing and selling. The operation included 4000 false shirt amongst which were 10.000 Real Madrid , FC Barcelona and Spanish nation strips.
Also police agents have retrieved 105.00 stickers to be put on new items of clothing with logotypes like Nike, Adidas, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren & Tommy Hilfiger, amongst others, according to the Jefatura Superior of the Canarian police.

The organisation which was broken was apparently made up of the five arrested people and nine others who are under suspicion. They are accused of collaborating in the distribution of said clothes to shops and markets on the islands of Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote. The operation which was called "Fullbacci", took place in April when it was brought to the police's attention that false clothes and a ring of seller could be in the islands.

The first of the two centres found was in a warehouse in a commercial centre in San Bartolomé de Tirajana (Gran Canaria), from where the police discovered that items were being sent to the other islands.

The second location discovered was in Vecindario also in Gran Canaria where it was discovered the fakes may have been produced.

As well as these two centres the police have inspected several shops in commercial centres in Playa del Ingles where they have confiscated approx. 3.000 items of clothing which apparently came from the two warehouses made by the forgers.

The police who put the value at 500,000 Euros the stock seized pointed out that this was a major action in the fight against fakes. Not only because of the number of items seized but also for the manufacturing capacity the group had and following on from that the quantity of their sales points.
"This find has been a breath of fresh air for those businesses who operate within the law and are overwhelmed by competition who can have much lower prices as they are selling illegal products” assured the police representative.
