There's an article in today's Diario de Avisos about a gardener who was bitten by a black widow spider in La Gomera. He was working as a gardener when he was bitten by the spider and had an allergic reaction to the spider bite. After spending a week in intensive care he has fully recovered.
Ok so they say if you stand on a spider it will rain but I'm willing to take that chance, I'll just make sure i have my shoes on first!
