Accommodation wanted for New Year week in south Tenerife

Can anyone advise how I can find accommodation for 7 x nights over the new-year period from 27th December?

All the usual searches (owners direct, holiday lettings etc) and even a post on the property section of the forum have proved fruitless. We have not been before over the new-yaer period and it seems that most owners insist upon a 2-week booking is this correct?
