Sting Concert to be cancelled?

Looks as if another major event will be cancelled here after The Rock Coast Festival last month. Rumours have been circulating the "net" about the low sales for the Sting concert (although the concert is 30th June and many leave it for last couple of weeks).

But the promotor has to make a decision and it will be made tomorrow (Monday) according to the local papers.

It also says that Sting has made more demands that were not in the original contract and that has raised costs.

All this follows the Bruce Springsteen concert that was held in May in Gran Canaria but fell 8,000 people short of breaking even. The crisis is biting hard in the Canaries and concerts at 50/60€ are struggling to sell out.
Also the famous "Womad" Festival that takes place every year in Las Palmas has been cancelled due to lack of council funds.
