What are bank charges normally like for transferring money for property purchases?

    Hi,

I'm in the process of buying a property in tenerife, can anyone advise what the banks charge for transferring the money, my bank has charged £25 at this end but someone stated that there could be a charge at the tenerife end?

    Re: Bank charges

Yes there are charges at both ends but you can specify whether all the charges should be paid from the account where the transfer was initiated. In my experience, sometimes doing this can be cheaper especially if you’re transferring to a Spanish bank.

Moneycorp.com are generally cheaper than the banks and usually offer a better exchange rate.

Especially if you are setting up a monthly payment scheme.(For mortgages etc)
