Welcome to the forum and best of luck with your job hunting!
Thank you for your support , i appreciate the message and look forward to staying on here and making friends , which i may meet with one day ...x
With much respect you will need to give it your best.
Unemployment here currently 34% (8 ish in UK maybe a bit less now). Come with enough money to survive for a good few months - there are cash jobs to be had as a PR but that gets you no health cover, so you should look at private. Expect to earn at best 5 euro an hour or even commission only.
It's no paradise when you are hungry and sleeping on a beach
thanks again .....im not planning on sleeping on the beach, plus i plan to bring plenty of cash to see me for six months or more ....if it doesnt work out ill be happy enough to go to greece to visit my mother ....life sometimes puts challenges in front , but as i said i enjoy a challenge and dont give up easy ...cheers Louise
to the forum and
thanks fivepence .....that made me chuckle ,,,,,,,
hi and welcome, having survived here on "the rock" for nearly 20 years there are a few key things to know.
1. abandon pre conceived ideas of what you are going to do, take ANY job that is offered, unless you wish to go daft with boredom waiting for your dream job.
2. network, network, network, 5 cv´s a day into bars, shops, restaurants and businesses, and take any job and talk to everyone.
3. Do not sit back waiting for it to happen, cos it won´t, i recently advertised for a cleaner, the responses went from excellent to ludicrous, who ever got employment stating "i probably wont get the job but thought i´d apply" or my favourite " I,ve applied for lots so you call me (even though no number supplied)
It´s a great place to be but come prepared to graft
