What license do I need to drive a scooter in Tenerife?

If anybody could help with this please?

Thinking of buying a low powered scooter for a run around just to get from A to B.

I do not have any car licence.

Not wanting to get in any trouble but finding the mixed responses to this on another forum VERY confusing!

    Thanks

Re: Scooter - full licence required or uk provisional ok?

You need a licence (and insurance) to drive whatever you choose, be it a car, scooter or motorbike. If you want a small scooter like lots of kids and others drive here you either need a car licence or a scooter licence.
The test is a combination of theory and practical. As far as I'm aware you can only take the car theory in English, the scooter one is only in Spanish. No idea of current costs for a scooter bit someone will know.
A UK provisional is only for use in the UK and is not valid in Spain.
