Can an unemployed person earn money without becoming autonomo?

If one registers as resident, declaring to be unemployed, can one then receive some income from UK, or let out a room in an acquired property, without being forced to become "autonomo"/self-employed and thus not pay for social security?

One still should pay taxes on the income of course and have private health insurance. Also wonder if basic personal allowance €5,550 against tax would apply here....

If you are not working here, either self or employed you do not need to pay SS. However you may have a problem with Double taxation as the income would be taxable in both countries. In order to pay only here you need to demonstrate to HRMC that you pay your taxes here, this is by fling returns and paying taxes, that would mean paying in both countries for a couple of years, and then claiming the tax back from the UK. The personal allowances are different UK allowances are for the UK only.
This i my understanding so I suggest you take professional advise for the complete answer.

Thanks.. If one earns less than £10k in UK, at least one would not pay taxes there, so only in Spain.

Personal Tax Allowance is currently £10, 600 in the UK
