Job in Tenerife South Nr. Costa Adeje

I am currently working as a domicilary carer in the U.K. but my partner and I are looking to sell up and move. I have 9 years bar/waiting experience so would be willing to work in either sector, I just need an idea on the likelyhood of getting a job before I can go ahead with sale of my house.

Hi Jodi ... welcome to the Forum.

I think the general consensus will be .... DON'T SELL YOUR HOUSE - yet. Is there any way you can rent it out for 6 months or a year if you are set on coming over here. I think we all know people who have sold up, moved over and lost everything.

Jobs are hard to come by ... maybe there are 2 British companies who offer Home Help but it is poorly paid and mostly part time.

For Bar/Restaurant work, without languages, you will have to rely on the British sector - maybe 5-7 euros an hour, many don't give contracts (or only part time contracts) and without a contract, you will need private health insurance as the system is very different in Spain.
