    Shade temperature at...10:15 am ....23.5C

    Humidity 64%

    Barometric pressure 1021 mb

    Good Morning!

We had blue sky and sunshine with a light breeze yesterday afternoon, and the night was warm.

This morning the sun is out, there are large patches of blue sky again with white fluffy clouds around the horizon.

The temperature has dropped, it's pleasantly cooler and there's a breeze.

Provincial forecast is for clouds for low areas of the north below 1100 meters, possible scattered showers in middle altitudes, and light cloud or clear elsewhere.

Temperatures dropping slightly; moderate northeast winds with intervals of strong winds on northwest and southeast slopes.

Expected high today for Sta. Cruz is 26C.

The yellow alert for strong coastal seas continues for Gran Canaria and the eastern islands.
    No alerts for Tenerife.

Forecast for Puerto de la Cruz is for partly cloudy, winds northeast/east, temperatures from 18 to 24C

Tomorrow is expected to be cloudy with sunny spells, a little cloud in the afternoon, temperatures the same and moderate northeast winds.

A little drama this morning at the bird feeder. This one-eyed blackbird was also here last year and possibly the year before.

His left eye is sunken, as you can see and he is perhaps going a little grey (do blackbirds go grey with age?). This morning he has been guarding the feeder, chasing off the other birds who come for breakfast.
He's especially intolerant of the females.

He'll sit on a branch waiting for the next one to come and then he'll descend, flapping his wings and scaring her away. Sigh... the plight of women in the world. Doesn't he look a miserable old coot!

Superb photos of the blackbirds Canarybird - I love One eye!!! We have a blackbird in the garden this year we call No Tail - you can obviously guess why!!!!

Do you think a female could have pecked out One eye's eye? Then no wonder he doesn't like 'em!!!

    Good Morning!

Yesterday the sky was overcast all day and it was warm.
This morning there is more cloud, a cool breeze and just after 9 am, a light mist began to fall as a fine drizzle. The humidity is very high - over 80%.

The provincial forecast is for cloudy again in the north with possible scattered showers, light cloud or clear elsewhere.

Temperatures, both maximum and minimum rising a little, northeast winds moderate at sea level and middle altitudes, stronger on central peaks.

Aemet's high forecast for Sta. Cruz today is 28C.

Puerto de la Cruz can expect very cloudy skies for most of the day with some clearing during the morning and evening.

Temperatures from 19 to 25C with light north/northeast winds.

Thursday should be cloudy with sunny spells in the morning and cloudless in the afternoon, temperatures dropping one degree and winds moderate at 20 km/h. It looks like the weekend will also be cloudy.

Heres the RTVE weatherman with today's forecast:

Whats on the webcams this morning:

Very cloudy over the valley on the meteolamatanza webcam.

Sta. Cruz NE view on the meteosantacruz webcam.

Yesterday - I was out and took pics - but too bad they got "lost" on my memory card and didn't show up.

Maybe I need to reformat or buy a new card, so took these evening pics around home to replace the lost ones:

This morning - around 9:18 am - very dreary, just before starting to drizzle:

Back to the damp patio pics:

Definitely gloomy over in the west and no Teide:

Thanks Sharon, great report as usual.
My own experience of the weather today: Drizzle and 19C in La Quinta at 8 AM this morning. Coming down to Puerto de la Cruz it was raining properly there, but at 10 AM it had stopped. Going over to Santa Cruz, it was till cloudy there at 11 AM, but there had been no rain. Around noon it started clearing up, and by 1 PM was quite sunny and warm.
Back in La Quinta at 2 PM, cloudy and 23C
Personally, I actually love those cloudy days, even though I want to see the sun now and then...

    Good Morning!

Another overcast day yesterday, and as Pooh described, the rain in Puerto didn't last past the morning hours.

Thanks for your report Pooh. I saw by the webcams that Sta. Cruz appeared to be dry but you confirmed it.

This morning is again overcast. This same weather caused by the northeast prevailing winds pushing more cloud from the north down toward the islands.

Aemet's provincial forecast for today is similar to yesterday's - cloudy to very cloudy in the north below 1000 meters, light cloud or clear elsewhere, temperatures without change.

Northeast winds moderate with strong intervals on northwest and southeast coasts.
Expected high for Sta. Cruz is 27C.

Forecast for Puerto de la Cruz is for partly cloudy today and Saturday, temperatures ranging from 18 to 24C both days.

    Light winds north/northeast at 15 - 20 km/h and UV very high at 11.

Sunday is expected to be very cloudy, with stronger winds at 25 km/h.

There is a yellow alert for Saturday around the two eastern islands and Gran Canaria for high winds and waves along the coasts.

    Heres the RTVE weatherman:

    Good Afternoon!

I'm late today as I spent a good part of the morning downtown running errands so I'll make it short today and will have to skip some photos. I can add a few more tomorrow.

It was overcast again yesterday. We can't seem to get rid of this cloud, however the temperatures are agreeable.

This morning there is a little blue sky seen in patches, otherwise we have more cloud, some grey heavy-looking ones along the north horizon.

There's quite a breeze blowing and some sun is coming through the clouds.

The provincial forecast for today is for (can you guess??)...cloudy to very cloudy below 1000 meters.

Intervals of cloud in other areas except in high zones where it will be clear. Temperatures generally rising.

Northeast winds moderate except on northwest and southeast coasts where it will be strong.

Maximum temperature in Sta. Cruz will be 28C.

The forecast for Puerto de la Cruz is for partly cloudy today, northwest winds at 10 and 15 km/h (see yellow alert for coastal winds and waves below); temperatures between 18 and 24C and UV very high at 11.

Similar weather for Sunday with winds stronger at 25 km/h.

Heres the RTVE weatherman with today's forecast:

As of 11 am Aemet has issued yellow alerts for today, Sunday and Monday for high winds with very strong gusts in northwest and southeast as well as strong coastal waves:
