This does seem to be a continuing issue at restaurants on the Island. On my last trip this happened four times in 11 days. Does seem concerning.
We went there for a late lunch the other day.
Apart from a couple drinking beer and a lone diner inside we were the only customers.
We have a lovely meal with friendly service - chopitos followed by conejo with some house wine and a bottle of water.
Thought the bill was a bit steep so took a closer look.
Amazingly they had charged for 3 breads (instead of 2), a bottle of fizzy water (as well as the still water which we actually ordered), two portions of chips (one was plenty thanks very much) and calamaris (complete mystery!)
It took two tries to come up with the right result.
It was all dealt with with a smile but why and how did this happen?
Just thought I'd mention it so others might be a bit wary. It might have been just a fluke but, on the other hand, it might be happening all the time.

Probably ex Taxi drivers buying restaurants, thinking they can still con some customers.
Always check our bill or i should say my OH always checks it.
Funnily enough in Puerto de la Cruz the other week she saw we Hadn,t been charged for an extra half litre of wine ordered.
On notifying the waiter, that was corrected and an extra 4 shots were presented at our table courtesy of the management.
