3 more sleeps for us as well. but we are flying in from the mainland and will have around 180+ 'locals' onboard chatting endlessly for the 3 hour flight to Tenerife and whoopping, cheering and clapping as we land !!!

Ours is pretty much the very last flight in, around midnight and no airside buses for us to take us from gate 33 to passport control area - its a long walk !

Me and a friend are going. It only cost £130 each for flights,hotel and transfers. I doubt the Hotel will be sparkling for the price but its only somewhere to sleep.

Never been before but got a really good deal. me and san went about 5 years ago. stayed at the gillieru in bugibba. a lovely hotel. and it happened to have one of the best fish restaurants on the island. so if you get the chance to try it then do. st pauls bay is only about 15 mins walk away.also if you are up for a bit of fun. then join the casino in st pauls bay. you only need your passport and it is free to enter. you have to visit mdina. a fantastic little medieval city. well worth it. also Valletta. and oliver reeds favorite bar. they have some fantastic memorabilia from his time in there. popeye's village is also a laugh if you remember the film with robin williams. and as a last tip. check out tripadvisor for some of the othr best places to eat. and enjoy:). my great grandmother was maltese :wink:

Well we were supposed to be landing in less than an hour but we didn't make it due to illness. Both had pneumonia all week and I could probably fly but had to take the wife to the docs and they had to call the ambulance so she was admitted, hence I'm still in the UK. Return flight still booked but not sure if/when we'll get out. First time we've ever had to miss the flight!!

Ours is booked for 9th March ( 3 flights from Manchester ). Sadly we may not be able to travel. Our daughter was taken into critical care 10 days ago and as yet all the tests have come back normal.

Now awaiting bloods to see whether it's a virus or a hormonal issue due to early pregnancy.

Didn't have insurance neither has we tend to book nearer the time.

Not good news, let's hope there is a fast improvement and your plans can return to a family holiday.
Keep us up to date and let's hope that it's good news.

Where are you staying, we used to stay at the Molino Blanco apartments in Puerto de la Cruz and spent many a happy evening in the Bee Hive. :cheers::vodka:

It's been a few years since I stayed there, so these links might help.

I've been in Bar39 by El Mirador a few times with marbro8 the only downside is that they refuse to stock alcohol free beer, I've no idea why, as every other bar in the area stocks it.:dontknow:

So thats us booked up now 25/10/16 - 2/11/16 8 days did try and convince my wife to stay longer but she said no:( its a long time till our week and we normally would have something in between but because of business commitments I just cannot get away. We have called our Welsh cousin and her apartment is free so happy days :laugh:
Hopefully the weather will be good as usual :whistle:

I'll wave to you from the departure lounge Tenerife airport and leave a umbrella at the kiosk at the exit doors by the legal taxi rank :drive:...you'll need it as the 25th October is the start of the wet season, but not at the bars in L/C as your money supplier TOTO 99:drunks2: won't be there.

Funny you should say that.....Having seen AJ's Ryanair post this morning, I jumped online to look at November and the prices were great. At that point I got called out and now I've just come back and they are now only showing until the end of October, nothing beyond that..???

They were definitely there earlier. I can only assume someone made a mistake and they were quickly removed.....I'm gutted..:crying2:

Go out during October, a far better class of people will be there.. LindaD marbro8 & myself, plus the extra bonuses of decent sunny weather and not having to subsidise Angusjim 's drinking escapades.:D

When they showed up this morning it was £44 outbound from Manchester. The most expensive one back was £100 but most were around £75.

Fingers crossed they come out later today or tomorrow and have the same prices........

I just spoke to some charmer at Ryanair told them the issue she just said that flights are available to book. I told her yes that may be the case but they are not on website to book she just started waffling about doing a catched search or something!! so I just put the phone down to save my blood pressure. I like using Ryanair but they really do themselves no favours sometimes:laugh:

Your right, it's normally about 8-9 in the evening before it gets busy, but the waiters in Linaris2 are on to it in minutes and clear a table for you....they will even steal a table from the bar next door.:D

Our first cruise was in 1991, during which we went from Cyprus to Israel & Egypt, it was a bit scary at times as there was a lot of aerial activity going on due to the Gulf War. :gun:

We are in parque Santiago 2 ,my mum and dad stay here two/three times a year in the aame apt ,I'm a little devastated to be honest as they have had to cancel due to my mum having a emergency operation ��
We were coming as a surprise for them but now have had to tell them so it's not gone to plan in fact it's gone horribly wrong!!!
We are all now planning to get away around September so long as all is well with my mums op fingers crossed!

Well taken the bull by the horns and decided to have a break from the Reef . Took a fair bit of persuasion and hope I don't live to regret it
so we are off to Corfu on Friday for 2 weeks . We always loved Greece but that seems to have been in a different lifetime , we will see how it goes ,
at least I am looking forward to it :lol:

I also after lots of persuading tried our first cruise last month, flew to Phaphos ,ship Limmasol then Crete, Athens, Mikinos etc loved it but glad to be back to Tenerife again now

Love Tenerife obviously cos we live here, not long got back from all inclusive 2 weeks in Cancun and must say we had a fabulous time so much so that we are definitely going back.
The hotel was spot on for us , the restaurant staff ,the bar staff everyone involved in the place could,nt do enough for us...
Right on the beach with the Caribbean Sea lapping the shore..Sunshine every day...Cruise on the Lagoon and even a trip to Isla Mujeres... to drive a golf buggie along the roads and not even play golf.
Fabulous time had by all 4 of us in our group ..thoroughly recommended ....

Its the long flight times we find hard to deal with now . Like you we loved the Caribbean nowhere matches it . We cruised many times and never had a bad experience
anywhere we visited , we were even daft enough in those days to go back and holiday in Jamaica !!!

Yes the flight going wasn't too bad, full of expectation visiting somewhere new to us.The return flight was overnight so that did get a bit tedious

I remember the first time we went to Costa Adeje, there was a restaurant / bar ran by a Liverpool lad who supported Everton down by the front. We sat chatting to him one evening and he was telling us that he still had a season ticket and used to fly home for the games. However when we went back the next year it the bar was gone. Did you ever stumble accross him / know if he moved premises? I only ask as you say you live there.

Alright Lee,
The bar you mention was i think called Bentleys which used to be very popular.
As for the lad that ran it did get to talk to him a few times and yes he too was a Blue.
Don,t know (why/where) the place closed or anything more than likely knowing the landlords attitude here is if it looks like a bar is doing well they put the rent up ...Bang goes the meagre profit the said bar may be making.... end of ..

Lovely. we took the ferry to Mull two weeks ago, really enjoyed it. We then visited Iona.

It's great now for those that have to use the ferries, I've done a bit of copy and paste (below) for the reason for the reduction, also another bit of good news (for my son who is a chief engineer :D ) is that Calmac have won the new nine million pound contracts, which I think lasts for the next eight years.
