Thanks for the welcome back and sorry, but I have been having an eye operation and have had difficulty seeing too well on the computer with only one eye. Had to spend over a week keeping my head down parallel to floor for forty minutes in every hour and then sleep (?) facing down as well, thus no time for writing even if I could see!!!!

Hope your eye job was successful - I am sure it says so somewhere on the forum, but I really can't read all the pages sine I was last on!

We did wonder if it was because of your eye, hope it's going to be OK now. Mine's OK, been 2 months now and it seems to have settled down nicely. Cost me a new pair of varifocals though.

Redditch, I knew Redditch when it was a nice little town. I was born in Evesham, brought up in Salford Priors and went to school in Alcester. Used to go to the swimming baths in Redditch. Long long time ago.


Talking of swimming it's been very wet this morning, looked OK first thing, hung the washing out, went shopping and when we got back the washing was wetter than when it was put out.

Been a nice day today although I spent the morning in Truro hospital having drops in my eye and then photos taken of the inside of the eye. After that I saw the consultant and he is very pleased with the way things are progressing and doesn't want to see me for six weeks. I celebrated by making a quick detour to Lidl on the way home to stock up on some cases of red!

A bit dull this afternoon but quite warm at 15.2C (59.4F). However, that was an improvement on the forecast of heavy showers!!! It's nice to get into my purple hand-knitted bikini again - summer's here!
