Monday: ☁️ Cold and cloudy - Max 5°C.
Good morning! It is a crisp start out there with a widespread frost to begin the day. Aside from some patchy mist, we will see some early sunshine this morning although this will give way to increasing cloud cover as the morning progresses.
Mostly cloudy skies will feature for the rest of the day which will limit temperatures to a maximum of only 5°C which will mean today it will be the coldest day of the season so far.
Tonight there will be no frost, with rain later in the night lifting temperatures to a milder 7°C.
Outlook: Turning milder.
The brief colder snap comes to an end on Tuesday as milder air moves in accompanied by quite a lot of cloud. This sets the theme for the week with most days being cloudy and mild but rainfall amounts will be low. In the medium term, it is likely to be become colder again next week but this should at least mean more in the way of sunshine.

Tuesday: ☁️ Cloudy - Max 11°C.

Good morning! We will have a milder day today across Manchester with cloudy conditions throughout. There will be some patchy light rain or drizzle at times, especially on the hills although rainfall totals won’t amount to much. With winds now coming from the South-West, it will feel a lot milder with highs of 11°C.

Tonight the cloud cover will remain meaning we will be frost free, temperatures will be relatively mild with lows of 8°C.

Horrible morning here in Oldham.

Thursday: [emoji942] Patchy rain AM/Sunny PM - Max 10°C.

After a dull week, we should finally see some sunshine today although we have some rain to come first.

This morning will be cloudy with rain moving South-Eastwards, becoming increasingly patchy as it does so. Clearer and fresher weather will move on in behind allowing for some long sunny spells to develop into the afternoon. A cold and mostly clear evening will follow.

Tonight, with plenty of clear spells, a widespread frost will form with temperatures getting down to around 0°C in rural areas.

Friday will be mostly fine with some sunshine. It will feel colder by this weekend with Saturday being the better day with sunny spells and just a few showers - Sunday is likely to be a wet and quite windy day.

Bouncing now in Oldham. Sunshine later? Don’t hold your breath.

Friday: [emoji941] Hazy - Max 8°C.

Good morning! It will be cold out there today with localised frost and a few patches of mist this morning. Temperatures will only recover to a high of 8°C today so it would be a good idea to wear an extra layer. The better news is that we will see some hazy sunshine during today although there will be some showery light rain in a few spots earlier on.

If you are out this evening and tonight, it will be dry and cold although cloud cover later should help us avoid a frost in most places with lows of around 4°C.

Monday: ☁️ Cloudy and milder - Max 12°C.

Good morning! The new week sees a shift to much milder weather but also quite a lot of cloud with rain at times. Colder weather will return by this weekend though.

Back to today and it will be cloudy throughout with patchy rain during the morning and into the afternoon. It won’t be raining non stop though! All parts will be much drier by late afternoon with just a couple of showers lingering ahead of a mostly dry evening. It will be a quite windy day as well but noticeably milder with a high of 12°C.

Tonight, after a mostly dry evening, showers will move in towards midnight with temperatures only just dipping into single figures with lows of 9°C. No defrosting of the car will be needed on Tuesday morning!

Wednesday: [emoji943] Mild, wet and windy - Max 15°C.

We will have some very mild weather for late November today but it does come with rain and wind. A Met Office warning is in place for strong winds and high rainfall totals which covers Greater Manchester. The strongest of the winds will be during the aftenroon where winds could gust in excess of 45mph. The highest rainfall amounts are however likely to be further North and West of Manchester but it is worth taking care if you are traveling.

Winds will weaken as we go into tonight but heavy showers or longer spells of rain will remain throughout the night.

Colder and brighter weather is on the way from Thursday. Yesterday we mentioned a risk of snow on Saturday and it now looks like higher ground will see some wintry showers with rain showers likely elsewhere. Updates to follow!

Friday: Sunny spells & a couple of showers - Max 7°C.
Friday will be another cold day with some sunny spells and and a few showers later in the day. Showers are likely to be wintry on higher ground, day with temperatures reaching a maximum of 7°C. Winds will be lighter than recent days.
This evening, further showers will affect Greater Manchester with these once again being wintry on higher ground. Temperatures will fall close to freezing which brings a risk of ice on untreated surfaces overnight. Slushy deposits on higher ground will be an additional hazard by Saturday AM.

Wednesday will be another cold day with some sunny periods and just the odd wintry shower to the East of Manchester. Temperatures will only reach 5°C although with the wind biting down from the North-West it will feel colder than this.

Tonight: Clear and cold - rural low -5°C.

After sunset, temperatures will fall away sharply during Wednesday evening and night with a widespread frost developing for all. Temperatures even in urban areas will fall to -2°C overnight in what will be the coldest night of the season so far.

A crisp and clear start will greet Manchester on Thursday morning with a mostly sunny day to follow. Keep warm everyone!

This evening: Snow showers possible.

Good evening, snow showers are filtering inland from the North-East at the moment which means we could see a few showers reaching parts of Manchester this evening. A dusting of snow is possible with this then freezing tonight under clear skies.

For the majority of tonight we will have cloud cover with dry conditions but temperatures won’t fall too far with lows of 5°C.

Enjoy Monday. Colder weather will strike back at the end of the week but prior to that we will have mild days.

Wednesday: ☁️ Cloudy & breezy - Max 10°C.

Good morning! We have cloudy weather again to start the day with patchy drizzle possible where cloud is thickest. Aside from that, the rather benign conditions will continue throughout the day although winds will strengthen towards this evening.

Tonight will be a windy one which is thanks to #StormCaroline which will be reaching out and touching Scotland overnight. We are not in the firing line for this storm but we will still experience some gusty winds, especially West of Manchester - nothing of major concern though! We will also have some outbreaks of rain overnight.

The cold weather is still on the way this weekend with snow showers possible during the early hours of Friday and then during Friday daytime. Saturday looks like being a cold and sunny day but there could be some more significant snow on Sunday as a front moves in from The West into the cold air we will be stuck under. We will keep you updated after looking at the latest weather models today. Enjoy Wednesday!

Thursday: [emoji942] Showers/Windy - Max 10°C.

Good morning! Today starts mild with some rain around with winds being quite gusty. It will turn increasingly colder as the day progresses with a mixture of sunny intervals and a few showers during the day. Showers will begin to turn wintry on higher ground during the evening.

Tonight we will see temperatures fall away sharply along with showers feeding in from The North-West. These showers are likely to fall as snow, even to lower levels overnight, giving accumulations of 2-5cm. Temperatures will fall to -1°C. Ice will be a hazard on Friday morning where any snow has fallen.

The best chance for a drier spell will be during the afternoon when the sun should make a few brief appearances. It will feel milder out though with highs of 6°C.

This evening we will have a front moving East which will bring sleet and snow to higher ground at around 200M plus, lower levels should mostly see rain. Showers will follow on behind overnight with temperatures around 2°

Thursday: ☁️ Foggy/Cloudy - Max 11°C.

Good morning! Quick update today as there really is not much change in the conditions we have had the last few days.

All areas will have a cloudy day with patchy drizzle at times. There will be fog around during the morning which will be stubborn to clear in hillier areas. Temperatures will be mild for the time of year with highs of 11°C. Tonight cloud will stay with us, with further mist/fog on the hills and a low of 7°C.

Today marks the winter solstice and the shortest day of the year which means the days will slowly get longer from tomorrow! Have a great day!

We hope everybody had a nice Christmas Day! Today we are back in cold air with temperatures struggling with only a high of 5C. Boxing Day afternoon will see a few showers but also plenty of bright winter sunshine. Tonight will be cold with a few clear periods and a low of -1°C in rural areas.

There is a weather warning out for rain and snow tonight and although it does not cover Manchester, it is worth knowing if you happen to be traveling near areas such as Macclesfield, The Peak District, Sheffield and much of the Midlands and to the South-East of England.

Here is the official info from The Met Office;

A weather system moving east across southern England and Wales will bring a mixture of heavy rain and snow. 15-25 mm of rain is expected quite widely within the warning area with some places receiving 40-50 mm. Through the night, it is likely to turn to snow in places, initially over higher ground Wales and perhaps the Peak District, then central and eventually southern England on Wednesday morning. Snow is expected to settle mainly above 100 m with a cm or two for most, locally 2-5 cm and perhaps up to 10 cm in a few places. These larger amounts are more likely over the highest ground. The warning has been updated to remove northwest Wales, but extend the area to include higher ground in southern England and Wales.

Enjoy Boxing Day everyone! Normal forecasts will be back in the morning!

Thursday: Wintry showers & sunny spells - Max 5°C.
Good morning!
Today we start on a very cold note with a few showers of sleet/snow around, mostly to the South-West of Manchester. Watch out for ice if you do catch a shower as the ground temperature will be below freezing for most of the day.
Showers will be very hit and miss during the rest of the day. Away from the showers, we will have plenty of sunny periods mixed in with partly cloudy skies. Temperatures won’t get any higher than 5°C though so wrap up warm.
Tonight will again be frosty at first with temperatures falling away to a low of -3°C.
Friday AM: ⚠️ - Winty mix.
Cloud will increase as we approach Friday morning with a spell of rain, sleet and snow pushing in from The South-West. For anyone in work on Friday morning, it is worth giving yourself extra time to get to work as travel disruption is possible, especially if traveling in hillier areas. Any snow will turn back to rain later in the morning.
Have a good day!

Wednesday: ⚠️ Gusty winds and showers - Max 8°C.

Good morning!

Today we have gusty winds to contend with as Storm Eleanor continues to affect the UK. Winds gusts could exceed 50mph, especially this morning before weakening later in the day. Along with the wind, there will be heavy showers throughout the day with hail possible as well. Quite a stormy day!

Tonight, most showers will die away and winds will become less gusty although it will remain windy. Temperatures will fall to a low of 5°C.

Outlook: Cold spell looming.

Our weather will remain unsettled until this weekend when things will turn a lot colder. Despite turning colder, we should at least be able to enjoy some winter sunshine with mostly dry conditions for the majority of the weekend. Winds will be coming from an North-Easterly/Easterly direction which will feel rather bitter.

Have a good day and take care out there today!
